Johnathan Tse’s Brainwave Controlled Drum Machine

View Paper | NYU Thesis Projects

Johnathan’s project was one of the most interesting I’ve ever worked on. We worked closely together to connect a portable EEG device to Max / Msp to control a drum machine with thoughts. The final results were crude because we were only using a $400 EEG, which was not as accurate as more expensive models. In fact most of the effort in this project involved creating filters to reduce the amount of nose.

At this moment the Link to the project paper does not work, but will shortly.

Rude Oil – An IDM Capstone Project

View Project | IDM/SUE Capstone Projects

This project was a collaborative effort between Rosa Pena, Chris Giamarino, Cody Fulcher and Iffat Jahan. The goal of the project was to create a simple data interface to research about pollution in the Niger Delta. I am pleased to say that it led directly to at least one of the members of the team getting employment in his chosen field (urban development).

A capstone project by …

This is the video I produced to generate interest in my Human Rights and Technology course at Sarah Lawrence College, which for the record was my favorite class of all time. Why? Not only because of the excellent students but also because of the dynamic way we applied clinical psychology and digital media to a very practical topics, such as client care.
